Our take
The net-zero era has led to major changes in how companies develop and risk-analyse their products, leading to bottlenecks in the development process. Twist has built a set of tools and integrations so producers can manage the risk and value of their assets. The company quantifies the financial and environmental footprint of a product's lifecycle and uses this data to provide instant access to an asset's future earnings. This same data creates a detailed green financial product for lenders.
Twist's software is for electronics companies that are operating producer-owned models: that's when a company owns, looks after and ultimately recycles its products. Twist charges its customers to access the software, like an e-scooter sharing platform or a robotics-as-a-service business.
Twist's platform sets itself apart by helping tackle the two problems companies face when making the switch to environmentally-friendly business models. Firstly, it takes on the new operations they need, taking control of their product lifecycle. And secondly, Twist helps companies smooth out the longer payback periods these models have.
