Our take

Enabling more secure payments across traditional currencies and cryptocurrencies, Unbox is a platform that provides closed loops to be used for the control, distribution, and registration of assets.

The main draw to Unbox is that it has inherent traceability and programmability that make it a flexible payment platform for everything from diamond to recycled plastic bottle trading. Also, its platform can work with existing payment networks to streamline transactions whilst maintaining security and privacy.

Unbox's unique product suite also includes City uCoins, designed for stimulating local economies, Unbox Humanaid for the charity sector, and Unbox Litter which helps to incentivise recycling. The product packages are wide-reaching and speak to a large target market, which is part of how the company has attracted big-name investors including HSBC and the KBC investment bank.
