Smartphones have evolved into pocket computers with functionality far exceeding the most powerful desktop machines of yesteryear. However, despite their power, mobility and ubiquity, they are far better at getting us online than connecting with the world around us. Uniqode, formerly Beaconstac aims to change this, leveraging the power of mobile phones in marketing, services, and payments through a QR code management platform.

Up to 100 million people in the US alone are expected to scan at least one QR code in 2025, a rate growing at more than 5% per year. As a result, there are number of startups providing solutions in this space, including the likes of Flowcode, Scanova and QRTiger. However, Uniqode stands out with the range of customizations available, its automatic readability checking and the analytics its platform makes available to its clients. This difference has allowed it to grow an impressive customer base of over 20,000 companies including enterprises such as Amazon, United Airlines and Deloitte.

Uniqode's performance has caught the attention of investors, and it has recently closed a Series A funding round. This will be used for R&D and to expand the company's headcount with the aim of doubling its talent pool. As companies continue to seek new ways of reaching and interacting with their customers, Beaconstac is well poised to cement its lead in the market.
