Urb-it is on a mission to transform logistics sustainably and offer green convenience in cities.
29% employee growth in 12 months
The market for inner-city deliveries is booming, due not only to the Covid-19 Pandemic encouraging people to stay at home, but also due to an increased demand amongst consumers for faster deliveries. To some extent, this market is already highly saturated, with big players able to offer same or next day delivery on many products.
Carving out a market share in this area is difficult, but Urb-it is banking on two key features of its business model to help it succeed. On the one hand, it offers delivery services to a far wider range of businesses than most other courier services, enabling it to access a greater potential market. On the other hand, its model has sustainability at its core - all its deliveries are emission free - which many climate-conscientious consumers will favour.
Its network of couriers - "The Urb-it Community" - give Urb-it significant agility, something which has allowed it to expand across the UK and France quickly. Key to its success going forward will be securing partnerships with big brands, something it has seen some success with already, pairing up with the likes of the CO-OP in London and Amazon Logistics in Paris. If it can continue to build on its early momentum, Urb-it could be well set to command a significant share of this market in the future.
