Our take

Businesses across the board are seeing an increasing shift online, where a strong, frictionless user experience has proven a substantial key to netting an online customer base. This has made Experience Insight Management (XIM) tools, like those offered by UserZoom, more attractive than ever in helping to optimize digital experiences.

The 2007-founded company is an established market player with a strong customer base including Amazon, eBay, Facebook, and Google. This will help it stay competitive against rivals like UserVoice, Usabilla, and Qualaroo, as will its focus on refining and expanding its offerings.

Following its acquisition by Thoma Bravo and Sunstone Partners, it appears that UserZoom will be combined with UserTesting. The companies' complimentary offerings will enable an even more powerful end-to-end solution in the customer experience space, with a combined product even stronger than what UserZoom offered before.

Dan Fishback

They started out in Sales and were CEO of IBM DemandTec. They have been a Board Member of numerous companies, and currently sit on the boards of companies such as Moogsoft, Sight Machine and Teradata.

They studied at ESADE Business School and co-founded XPerience Consulting, acting as its Director. They have also served as UserZoom's COO and Head of Product.
