Our take

For many students, location can be a massive barrier to pursuing internships. Virtual Internships solves this problem by matching young people with remote internships at global companies.

Virtual Internships is taking advantage of the international shift towards remote and distributed work to make internships more accessible. Its solution is powered by AI, allocating internships more quickly and accurately than traditional job searches. What's more, it offers training to interns before they start, thereby providing an assurance of quality (and therefore incentive) for companies.

Since its launch, Virtual Internships has grown its revenue at an impressive pace. Its largest source of income is universities and higher education institutions who have added the service to their curriculums. The company faces considerable competition from the likes of Forage, Multiverse and Riipen, but it has successfully set itself apart by offering guaranteed internships and working closely with universities.
