Vital is an API that collects at home health data in order to power the next generation of health tech apps and change how healthcare is currently delivered.
The company uses at-home lab tests and fitness wearables (like Fitbit) to aggregate data. This means that it no longer takes companies months to get clinical data from legacy labs, which generally involves outdated ordering & result processes.
Currently in Beta, the early stage company were part of Y Combinator's Summer 2021 cohort. Vital have funding from both Y Combinator and other top tier funds and angels (yet to be announced). They are growing fast and already have clients from the wellness, fitness, sleep, coaching, allergy, and metabolic health spaces.

The team puts a lot of time on making sure that what we build lasts. We are still young and small, so there's an inherent feeling to move forward fast and deliver value to our users. Nonetheless the team is always kind and supportive.

I have been tackling complex integrations with the likes of Strava, Garmin and FreestyleLibre. These on their own present different kinds of challenges on how they expose data and how we consume it. There's also the angle of providing a reliable service for our users and doing it at a large scale.

My background is mostly in mobile and management. At Vital I have the opportunity to work on things I have never done before: backend with Python, FastAPI and GCP. For the last couple of months I have worked on things I never done before.
