The rise in popularity of streaming, content creation, and eSports has meant that voice broadcasting has taken a new form on the internet, and many people want to manipulate the way their voice is heard. Broadcasters may want to anonymize their identity, add a creative twist to their streams, or perform as different characters, but setting this up with existing solutions is full of audiovisual complications.
Voicemod develops audiovisual software for the modulation of vocals, allowing users to change their voice characteristics when gaming and streaming, whilst also complementing it with sound effects. The software is free to use, but paid features can be activated by Twitch audiences through the donation of Bits.
Whilst vocoders and other voice modulation tools already exist in software and hardware forms, Voicemod has taken a smart approach by directly applying its software solutions to the audience of streamers. By integrating directly with Twitch and its donation system, the company is able to provide free software to enhance streaming experiences whilst profiting from in-app purchases and donations. With more than $20 million in funding behind it, Voicemod is benefitting from its taking voice modulation into new markets.
