Company mission

To champion students everywhere by connecting them with meaningful support when it matters.

Our take

As traditional university support services continue to fail, and far too many students fall through the cracks, Vygo is a company that realised institutions were not making use of their best asset - the student community. It provides solutions that allow universities to leverage student mentoring and tutoring at scale, to create a support system that works better for all.

Vygo's flagship peer programs are designed to increase student engagement and satisfaction, matching students with mentors. As well as student-to-student services, Vygo has expanded to support industry-to-student, that focusses on upskilling opportunities towards improving graduate employability, as well as staff-to-student services that allow students to find, chat or book sessions with staff more easily and without relying on email.

Vygo began operations in Australia, where it works with around a third of universities. The company has secured impressive funds towards continuing expansion in the UK and Europe, which will be helped by the rapidly increasing demand for digital support services in higher education.

Benefits

  • A healthy team culture - We are a team dedicated to making a difference and getting results, and we’ll get there together. From team hangouts and lunches to playing online games together, we maintain a culture where you have time to form real connections with your colleagues, even remotely.
  • A partner for your career growth - We take growth seriously. If there’s something you want to upskill in, you’ll be supported all the way. You’ll have access to a development stipend to spend on books, courses, seminars, events - anything you want!
  • Remote first and results-oriented - it’s about outcome, not output. You can work from any time zone as long as you're willing to have at least 4 hours overlap with me (~AEST 8am-5 pm). You can also work where and how you want; as long as you get the job done you’re free to choose how you do it. We value people over process, and we back that up with flexible work arrangements.
  • Mission-driven colleagues - everyone at Vygo is here because they want to change education.

Company values

  • Autonomy and flexibility - Take ownership of projects from start to finish, communicate transparently about project status, and ask for help when you need it.
  • Accountability - Hold yourself accountable for the outcomes of your work
  • User-first mindset - Work as a team to analyse problems and collaborate on finding the solution. Clearly demonstrate and communicate your work and its impact to users.
  • Radically candid - We care about getting to the right result, which requires open discussions and the ability to give and receive feedback.
  • Excited by a dynamic environment - Roll up your sleeves and solve hard problems in an environment where all of the answers are not yet clear. Chase the biggest opportunities and deliver excellent results.
