Wombo's mission is to unleash everyone's creativity through the magic of AI, transforming the way content is created, consumed, and distributed.
43% employee growth in 12 months
Wombo creates fun, AI-powered content production tools, from an app that creates lip-synch videos from a photo, to one that creates unique AI art from a single user prompt. The two have been downloaded over 85 million times thanks to the highly shareable nature of the results. In fact, this is Wombo’s key MO: leveraging the entertainment value of AI for the production of hyper-shareable content.
It’s gotten the team remarkable traction since Wombo’s early 2021 launch. Through the two apps the company has netted over 10 million active monthly users, and arguably is helping broaden the appeal of AI in the public consciousness. What longevity these kind of projects will have remains to be seen, but Wombo is in a good position to continue innovating - with suggestions that one of its next steps will be into the world of Web 3.0.
This would likely prove a savvy move. Content creators are already beginning to shift away from incumbent content platforms like Tiktok in favour of spaces that offer more ownership and better monetisation avenues. Web 3.0 is anticipated to host many such platforms - and Wombo’s AI-driven apps would be a remarkably good fit.
