Our take

Waggel was founded on the belief that pet insurance should be seamless and simple. By stripping away the traditional stresses, complexities, anxieties, and fears often associated with insurance, Waggel is reinventing the industry with its intuitive and easy-to-use platform.

Established names in this industry include Allianz PetPlan, L&G Pet and Direct Line Pet. However, 45% of cat or dog owners do not have pet cover as many are unconvinced by the value pet insurance offers. Waggel targets these untapped customers who cannot or would not commit to a standard annualised insurance policy by offering a pay-as-you-go subscription model.

With customers demanding transparent, digitally-based solutions, Waggel is well-placed for filling this niche and offering a solution for the next generation of pet owners.

Leadership

Ross worked as a User Experience Architect and Product Director at OgilvyOne UK, before roles in Product and Design at carwow, Adaptive Lab, and as a freelancer. In November 2017, he co-founded Waggel as CPO, serving as Chief Experience Officer since October 2020.

Andrew was a Portfolio Manager at Leal & Sons for 2 years. Before this, was a Franchise Owner at Brazilian Soccer Schools and a Client Service Executive at Nielsen in South Africa.
