To contribute to developers and companies around the world reaching their full potential.
Wasmer, founded in 2018, is a platform for running WebAssembly (Wasm) code flexibly on a range of different platforms. WebAssembly, the language-flexible alternative to JavaScript, is moulded by Wasmer into a collection of products and suites on which web developers can run the coding language dubbed “the future of the internet” through the cloud.
Though a small team, Wasmer have been busy since being awarded seed funding in 2021, the following year having released Wasmer 3.0. This update makes Wasm files functionable on Windows, Linux and Mac, and gets rid of runtime dependency.
Though Wasmer’s products are popular among Wasm specialists, the coding language is still in its infancy compared to Javascript. This will limit the amount of clients Wasmer can attain at present. In time though, the company can grow as the coding language, mostly used for content distribution networks on the web, gains more popularity. As a faster and more efficient alternative to Javascript, Wasmer’s products may be slow burn but have the potential to skyrocket when the internet catches up.
