To accelerate the transition to a Water-Secure World.

Our take

Waterplan is a digital platform that quantifies and mediates water risk for companies. Founded by four environmental sector workers, Waterplan aims to bring water risk into the climate change conversation in much the same way that companies are planning and acting upon their carbon footprints. Whilst environmental consultants may be hired by businesses every few years, Waterplan’s platform automates much of the work and presents to companies such as Coca-Cola and Colgate what needs to be done to mitigate water wastage within their business models.

Waterplan is an early adopter of what will no doubt be next on the agenda for climate scientists. With an expansion of its engineering and hydrologist team in 2022, Waterplan wisely used that year's funding from a celebrity list of investors. 2023 saw even more investment which is being used to expand its research and product development as well as improve its customer experience.

To make a real difference, however, it needs to keep up the momentum by attaining clients not only in the government and NGO sectors but private companies. It is using its 2023 funding to expand its services in the USA, Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
