Our take

Weaver is an online builder and renovation consultant marketplace with verified reviews by architects. Founders Greg and Linden studied together at university and later gained experience in the construction sector: Greg went into the management of an architectural studio while Linden worked as a building site manager first and as a developer later. These experiences and the technological gap to fill in their sector, made the two founders believe that a new paradigm could be found in the industry.

In a report issued by McKinsey consultants, world industries have been ranked depending on how technology has impacted them over the last forty years. The construction sector appeared to be the second least disrupted industry in the world, opening a significant gap that companies like Weaver have tried to fill in recent years.

The goal for Weaver in the near future will be to help a young generation of architects, who are already fluent in social media, to fully exploit the potential of a new marketplace that virtually connects stakeholders in the construction sector. Reviews on construction professionals could be shared instantly and might be key for fellow colleagues to build the best possible project team in order to use both money and time effectively.
