Our take

Electric vehicles are dramatically changing the automobile landscape, facilitating self-driving vehicles that interface with their owner through technology. Whilst this results in connected cars producing a vast amount of data that could be used to fuel many types of predictive models, gaining access and having the resources to interpret such data is difficult.

Wejo provides a data platform for connected electric vehicles called Wejo ADEPT, helping automotive, logistics, and mobility industries unlock the value of electric vehicle data to develop data-driven software products for clients. In addition to its platform, the company also develops technology for the data handling of connected vehicles, in addition to an insight visualisation platform called Wejo Studio.

Whilst many electric vehicle startups are working with technology companies to manage and process vehicle data to improve self-driving, Wejo is uniquely positioned by offering its data and analytics tools to a larger scope of industries. The company has formed partnerships with companies such as Microsoft and Palantir and shows great potential to aid in facilitating innovation within of automotive, infrastructural, and logistics industries.
