Whip Media is an enterprise software platform and data provider helping entertainment giants track show viewership and popularity. It has built TV Time, an app that lets consumers discuss their favorite shows. The company then uses the data they provide – for example, following a show, creating content, liking another user’s post, reviewing an episode, or commenting – to understand a show's popularity and viewership.
Its services are used by some of the biggest entertainment organizations - Warner Bros, Hulu, Sony, and Disney among others - suggesting that its plan to revolutionize the buying and selling of content throughout entertainment globally is making some headway.
The industry, however, is moving fast. Streaming is drastically changing the way entertainment companies buy and sell content and will further evolve as more platforms expand globally, and the demand for local and international content increases. Media companies are having to adjust quickly to meet this demand.
Whip Media is keeping pace - the 2022 commercial launch of the Whip Media Exchange, a first-of-its-kind global licensing and research platform for film and TV content targeting precisely these demands, could see it net further custom in a rapidly morphing industry landscape
