Company mission

To be the brand of consumer trust for social selling.

Our take

Ecommerce has a big abandoned carts issue; in part, it’s exacerbated by the broader issue being addressed by payments: how to sidestep the cumbersome process of plugging in card details when looking to make a purchase. These are two hot areas of focus for ecommerce tech, and Whym has developed a solution that solves for both.

Whym's brought to market a mobile app which works like a brand-agnostic shopping cart, centralizing all ‘save for later’ purchases that the user shoots over to the app from their online browsing. These items can then be bought through one-click purchasing via Apple Pay, Google Pay, or SMS.

The current issue is that this ‘shooting over’ can only take place if the brand has installed a Whym button at checkout, and for the moment Whym has only a couple dozen boutique companies on board. However, this should be enough to help Whym develop out the product into the rapidly evolving social commerce space - a savvy one to be getting in on early.
