Our take

Western societies are largely moving away from cash to card for most transactions. However, last to catch up is the hospitality industry, leaving plenty of opportunity for payment innovators.

YetiPay provides payment devices for restaurants and bars. Their devices generate more tips and save waiting staff time and hassle. At the same time, their devices also provide a better experience for diners with simple item-by-item bill splitting without the need to resort to using calculators.

The startup has driven a modest £10 million in transaction volume in its first year. To improve tips, its Tap to Tip device has an exclusive distribution deal with TiPJAR and is available in over 300 bars and restaurants across the U.K.
