To become the world's most trusted identity platform.
Proving our identities in the UK has historically been limited to a passport or driver's licence, but these forms of ID do not lend themselves to digital applications, which increasingly require age verification. Yoti, founded with the belief that digital identity verification will come to be indispensable, supplies digital identification for individuals via the Yoti app, and businesses through its customer verification offerings.
By creating the secure infrastructure needed to host someone's digital identity, Yoti is able to support partnerships across a number of industries. For example, the company has worked with self checkouts so shoppers can prove their age using their face or the Yoti app, as well as launching selfie ID checks for real estate agents. The company also strongly believes it is well positioned to exploit the growth of Metaverse and Web 3.0 interactions.
Although Yoti shares the UK market with contenders like Onfido and ApplyID, the expansive global identity market should provide it space to grow. Initially heavily funded by bootstrapping, the company has since raised considerable funds towards establishing a presence in North America, with its latest investment cited to support the development of a new, reusable digital identity proposition that will give users a "more private, secure and convenient way" to prove their identity.
