Zencastr's mission is to make it easier to record high-quality audio for interviewees based anywhere in the world
6% employee growth in 12 months
Between 2016 and 2021, the size of the US population who regularly tune into podcasts has doubled, reaching an estimated 80 million people. Similar trends are observable elsewhere; for example, in the UK, over 15 million UK citizens are monthly podcast listeners. Naturally, the growth in podcasts' popularity has also caused a great increase in the value of the industry. Worldwide the podcast market was worth $9 billion in 2019, and some predict it to reach over $60 billion by 2027.
Aiming for the slice of the pie is Zencastr, a platform for creating podcasts online. In recent years, Zencastr's services have been used by just under 10% of an estimated 1.2 million active shows in the world, and since the shift to remote interactions, it has seen significant in its usage. Particularly unique to Zencastr is its ability to run only on a web browser, making highly accessible and therefore able to appeal to a very broad potential market.
Zencastr has seen a some increased competition in the category however, including the likes of SquadCast and Riverside.fm. Furthermore, as podcasting returns to in-person recording rather than browser-based recording, Zencastr could see some regression in the next few years if it's not innovative enough.

Zencastr employs some of the most intelligent people I've had the honor of working with. We are moving at incredible speeds, and the cutting edge work our engineering team is able to get done in a short amount of time is amazing.

The team energy is contagious. We have weekly All Hands and monthly game nights, and they are so much fun! Everyone likes to take work seriously, but not themselves. We've had a few in person meet-ups, and it is great to get to know my colleagues in a different context. I would genuinely considerthem my close friends

We are growing incredibly fast. When I started 1 year ago, we were only at 20 employees, and now we are at almost 40 employees. Zencastr's product has also changed so much in that short amount of time. From launching video, to then transcriptions and now a working directly with creators. It is so much fun to witness live-time.
