To provide universal drone delivery solutions that reduce operational risk and complexity.
As eCommerce has exploded, more and more attention has been focused on the question of improving the efficiency of ‘last-mile’ delivery - the final stage of the supply chain, where goods move from a distribution center to their final destination.
Zing is part of a cohort of startups hoping to resolve this area with the use of drones. However, unlike other startups that are focused on a narrow element of facilitating drone delivery, Zing is reducing complexity for clients with an end-to-end solution adapted to existing, easily available aircraft.
The startup is focused on first applying its turnkey solution to use-cases which are most pressing. That has meant starting with flights across the water before securing Category 3 certification that will allow the company to fly over people and begin expanding delivery operations even further.
The challenge for Zing will be securing enough revenue during these pilot phases while continuing to work towards a full ‘Part 135’ for what’s known as ‘beyond visual line of sight’ operations that would permit the startup to truly scale and become a genuine offering in last-mile delivery contexts.
