Bloom's mission is to ensure delivery of quality outcomes from their pre-approved and ever growing network of suppliers and consultants.
Public sector procurement is a tricky business, with a complex purchasing process and numerous regulations in place around the tendering and fulfilment of contracts. Bloom Procurement was founded in 2011 to make this process easier, providing a marketplace linking government clients with pre-approved suppliers.
While procurement consultancy firms exist specialising in the government sector, Bloom is alone in providing a full-fledged marketplace with commercially de-risked suppliers. This allows it to shorten the time period for contracts to be awared to as little as 13 days against an average of three to six months. So far their solution has been used in over 7,000 contracts and has generated more than £250 million in business for SME suppliers that otherwise might have lost out to larger (and more expensive) competitors in the tendering process.
Bloom has received funding in an investment round led by BGF, which has been used to hire senior talent and further develop its platform. The business continues to scale and it is aiming to grow its supplier base and further boost its uptake across all sectors of government in the UK.
