Redefine how people create 3D, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR) experiences.
At this point, gaming, marketing and experience industries have been wishing on the promise of 3D/AR and VR for nearly a decade. That these technologies haven’t come to full fruition is a consequence of many hurdles, but perhaps one major contributing factor is their computing intensity.
Echo3D is fixing that by building tools and infrastructure to help developers create lighter and faster 3D games and apps. That can hugely augment the user experience - no one wants to wait for heavy 3D assets to load after clicking or tapping on something.
The company will use recent funding to expand developer relations efforts and grow its team of developers and marketers. So far, it has achieved vital partnerships with the likes of Unity and Echo3D is now integrated the Snapdragon Spaces software development kit (SDK).
Thus far, the company has made big bets on becoming the go-to infrastructure for 3D/AR/VR content in Metaverse environments. If that market goes south, it will have to pivot somewhat, but its technology is a fundamentally useful service for all types of developer stakeholders.
