Our take

Econscia was founded to solve the problem of environmental data collection being slow and complicated. Its product, econscia cloud, is a platform which automates emissions reporting and allows sustainability teams to move beyond spreadsheets. This helps businesses better understand the environmental impact their products have on the planet.

By saving hours of manual data processing time by analysing purchase data, supplier questionnaires, and raw files, organisations have more capacity to focus on reducing their emissions. The cloud platform allows clients to report and disclose their emissions to major international standards with the world's best frameworks, and expert guidance from econscia's team.

Econscia is operating in a market of growing interest as companies look more and more to incorporate sustainability into their business models. To facilitate client growth the company will need to focus on its platform development and increase hires.

Leadership

Ed Maclean

(Managing Director)

Ed studied at Oxford, where he co-founded Tremor Events, before working at BlueOptima and reed.co.uk. In May 2020, he co-founded econscia, where he has been since.

Cyrus studied Computer Science at the University of Sussex before going on to complete a Masters at UCL. Having started out as a Software Engineer, he focused on Data Science through his roles at BlueOptima and ViveBank before co-founding econscia.
