To make AI development just like any other type of web development.
AI companies can sink or swim on the diversity and flexibility of their product range and Explosion.ai has recognised just that. The Berlin-based startup combines a suite of commercial developer tools with an open-source machine-learning library. The aim of this is to help software developers maintain their focus and clarity on natural language processing for AI.
Part owned by tech venture capital firm SignalFire, Explosion.ai have always made sure that the open-source nature of its tech is at the heart of its decision-making, it's founders having met when working on open source project Spacy. After adding Prodigy, a scriptable annotation tool for coding to their suite of products, Explosion.ai has now released Prodigy Teams, an add-on that allows more collaboration for users.
With a sturdy ethos of transparency and collaboration and $6 million in investment, Explosion.ai has attracted Microsoft developers and Bayer employees to buy their products. It also has a vast pool of open-source users attracted by Explosion.ai’s collaborative and forward-thinking attitude.
