Our take

Cell phone reception isn't perfect - attend a large sporting event and your phone reception will often become rendered useless by the mass of signals around you.

GoTenna creates portable antennas that connect to your phone through Bluetooth, providing a seamless reception regardless of the setting. The device utilizes long-range radio waves to ensure flawless communication, and when paired with another GoTenna antenna can provide a reliable alternative to a cell-phone network.

Its application to smartphones provides a modern solution to an archaic problem. The company's industry adaptability has enabled it to shift focus from consumer-tech to public-sector clients such as emergency services, and it has secured a significant contract with US Customs and Border Protection.
