Our take

Traditionally, only large online retailers have been able to offer customers high-quality payment protection. hakuna solves that problem by empowering merchants of all size to provide embedded product insurance.

The company enables users to offer extended warranties and product protection, while simultaneously providing their customers with an effective and easy-to-use claims handling experience. This leads to increased overall customer satisfaction. A raft of notable investors have seen the value in the company, including Klarna founder Victor Jacobsson.

hakuna intends to model itself on Klarna's success, making embedded insurance seamless and more interesting. This will allow the company to differentiate itself further from potential rivals, and will be key to its future success.
