Be an experimental brand that ignites a community of people through sweat, grow, and connect.
Lululemon is one of the largest players in a $260bn global market for athleisure apparel, one of the fastest growing segments in retail fashion.
The company’s core product is the technical apparel sold in their 500-plus global stores famously including yoga pants, as well as items like jackets and accessories. On this front, they have been looking to invest heavily in their men’s segment which has seen impressive recent growth.
However, they have recently been looking to go beyond apparel with the $500m acquisition of Mirror, a bet on the major trend of remote, personalised exercise.
The acquisition represents part of Lululemon’s broader strategy to beat intense competition from brands like Nike or Nordstrom with diversity and close-attention to hot trends. To this end, they have leant into a community-based marketing strategy and focused on dramatically decarbonising their supply-chain.
