While online shopping has made many logistic developments - such as next day delivery - the checkout process can still be cumbersome and non-intuitive, often requiring a number of steps. Nate was created to make the consumer online purchasing experience one step simpler by easing the checkout process through its app.
The platform uses deep learning and natural language processing to read web code and transact online on behalf of people. This means that setting up a Paypal, Apple Pay and manually inputting new card details are a thing of the past and the 'Nate basket' will take care of everything for customers instead.
There's an increasing trend to make the checkout process as simple as it can possibly be (for example, Fast have got backing from Stripe to pioneer one-click-checkouts in the US). Having secured funding used to develop its features further, Nate is operating well in this space. It is planning to offer cashback for purchases made to power the monetization of its users, as well as developing an in-app wallet to save rewards.

Working remotely, it is sometimes difficult to see the hard work that people outside of your immediate team are doing. During lockdown we started a "Praise" channel on Slack where employees can give public praise to their colleagues to call out specific things that they've done which is either very in line with the company values, or just generally great. It has been a great way of celebrating both big and small wins, and keep morale high.

The number one best thing about nate is the people. Not only do we have such a genuinely good time at the office, but people's willingness to share knowledge across teams is really incredible. The amount of times that somebody had volunteered 30-45min on a Friday (our weekly "Professional Growth Fridays" are for learning) to talk me through a new project they are working on or explain a new piece of technology that we're trying to implement. I have never worked with such generous and genuine people before.
