To make public computers (blockchains) more accessible and understandable by enabling exploration and discovery.
smlXL believes that for blockchain technology to reach its potential, it must be made easier to understand and use. Through its projects evm.codes and evm.storage, the company aims to make the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and its data more transparent, and help build towards comprehensible public infrastructure.
Evm.codes, which was smlXL's first project, began as an educational wiki to help onboard its own team to the EVM, but has evolved beyond this into a resource used by thousands of developers every week. The more recent evm.storage tackles what the company says is the foundation of transparency - EVM storage - and comes with a fully planned roadmap for its future development.
Beyond these two projects, the company has stated that several products (likely covering both consumer and enterprise capabilities) are on the way, all powered by its instrumented EVM (iEVM), simulation and program analysis suite. Despite its relative secrecy, smlXL is certainly interesting enough to keep an eye on and one to watch as it evolves into the future.
