Our mission since the beginning has been to build a collection of products which improve hospitality experiences. ChargedUp enables everyone to stay connected, CleanedUp keeps you safe and now ServedUp is set to revolutionise the order to table process.
-55% employee growth in 12 months
The idea for TheUp was sparked when its young founder, Hugo, ran out of charge on the go while waiting for a job interview. By ending the fear of being without mobile access, the company hopes to attract a younger demographic.
There is a big trend towards 'sharing-economy' solutions in general although none have yet been applied to the problem of battery charge.
The company has been dubbed the 'Boris Bike of phone charging' since users can rent a pack from one destination and return it at another, giving it the edge over fixed point solutions like ChargeBox. It is currently operating in 35,000 venues off the back of 2022 seed funding. It has continued to expand slowly but successfully across many countries in Europe.
TheUp also has attractive environmental credentials. The company partners with Octopus Energy to carbon offset the emissions generated by its stations, and the company has committed to recycle all its batteries responsibly.
