Tiptapp aims to make everyday life easier and more convenient by revolutionizing the mobility of things in urban areas.
The simplest explanation of Tiptapp is that it’s an app for moving things around – furniture, shopping, and even more significantly recycling and waste. Indeed, it’s the latter two that make up the majority of its revenue, but which have also caused the most upheaval.
The company’s intentions are pure, and have an environmental benefit: “helpers” with spare time and car space are connected with app users who need to get rid of things, or have them collected and delivered. However, the fact that this offering extends to waste removal led to years of disputes with the City of Stockholm, which slowed the company’s growth despite it making a profit.
Fortunately for Tiptapp, these bureaucratic issues have at last come to a close, and the company is free to focus on growth again. Indeed, having launched in Berlin, the app is now eyeing up expansion in the UK as well as further afield in Europe.
