Our take

One of the major drawbacks of the Medicare and Medicaid landscape is that it’s dominated by a small group of national insurance providers. While this hampers the growth potential of smaller, regional providers, it also causes a big issue for patients who require more personal, holistic care.

Belong Health is aiming to tackle this problem head on. It partners with local and regional health plans, equipping them with coverage solutions to deliver more personalized care, especially for cases like behavioral health, special needs, addiction, and substance abuse.

The company was only launched in 2021 and is focusing on steadily forging partnerships with insurance providers and hospital systems across the US. It’s been strongly backed by New Enterprise Associates (NEA) however, who have no doubt been impressed by Belong’s six-person strong founding team.

Co-founded and is an Advisor to the Commons Project Foundation. Co-founded and was CTO of health plan Centivo, and was a founding member and EVP of Operations & technology at Envera Health. Before this they were VP of Technology Client Strategy & Implementation at Evolent Health.
