Our take
Remembering a pool of complex passwords can be difficult. Mobile devices have begun to use biometrics to resolve this issue, but passwords are still needed in order to log in to websites and apps.
Beyond Identity combines biometric technology with digital authority certification. This allows secure enclaves to grant access to not only the device but also the websites and apps used on the device.
The startup aims to use this system to provide a password-free user experience that is not only seamless but more secure, and this has benefitted notable customers such as Snowflake Inc., Roblox Corp., Cloud Plus, and Paya Holding Inc.
To date, Beyond Identity has raised over $200 million in funding, and it reached unicorn status in 2022. The company has seen strong growth, particularly amid the shift to remote working in recent years. The company is now focused on further expanding its research and development and extending its footprint and resources into Asia-Pacific and Latin America.
