Our take

Founded in 2014, Havenly has grown to be a major startup in the online interior design space. Its platform connects customers with professional interior designers and product purchase recommendations and, along with the sector at large, has seen a healthy upswing in recent years.

Though rivals like Modsy and Roomstyler make for tough competition, Havenly's professional consultations put them ahead of simple visualization services, and are attractive to customers looking for an affordable version of a previously hard-to-access personal service. Its launch of private label brand Cove Goods to the platform was also a smart one, as the marketing of featured pieces acts as an additional revenue stream.

The company's road has not been without its bumps - for example, it suffered a major data breach back in 2020. Despite this, its two-pronged approach to the interior design business could see Havenly win big over the coming years. Most lately, it has acquired direct-to-consumer home furnishings brands The Inside and Interior Define, as well as venturing into IRL services with the launch of “Havenly At Home”.
