Our take
Highview Power offers a liquid-air energy storage solution, available at sizes that can dispatch enough electricity to power more than 200,000 homes for 12 hours for a two-week period. It can do this at half the cost of lithium-ion batteries while releasing zero emissions.
The company's energy storage facilities are based on its proprietary technology – the CRYOBattery - the only long-duration energy storage solution that is being commercially deployed today. The CRYOBattery offers multiple gigawatt-hours (weeks) of storage. When paired with renewables, its facilities are equivalent in performance to – and could replace – thermal and nuclear baseload power.
Funding will enable Highview Power to continue its aggressive global expansion and rapidly move additional projects into the commercialization phase. There has been tremendous demand for the company’s long-duration energy storage solution, and Highview Power is working on projects across the US, Europe, and Latin America.
