Role
Who you are
- We are looking for an experienced financial modeller with an accountancy qualification to join the Finance team
- This role requires resilience, an enquiring mind, and a can-do attitude
- Strong academic results from a Numerical/STEM degree program
- Excellent Advanced Excel skills
- 3 years’ minimum financial modelling experience
- An accountancy qualification + min 3 years PQE (ACA, CIMA or Equivalent)
- An interest in additional specialisms such as Treasury or Financial Accounting or Systems implementation
- Some experience of debt finance and reporting to Lenders
- Ability to navigate and extract information from ERP systems eg. SAP, SAPByDesign, Oracle,
- Good inter-personal skills that will allow you to support and learn from other team members
What the job involves
- To date we have been supported by outsourced banking trained financial modellers with an investment focus, we now need more detailed modelling to manage complex intercompany cash flows, interest payments and working capital
- As we move into the operational phase in August 2026, the modeller will need to integrate accurate revenue projections and model downside scenarios
- Reporting to the Head of Strategy, Partnerships and Capital
- These roles have a different focus, but all 3 modellers should share best practice and align on common inputs
- You will join a small, friendly and ambitious team who are committed to supporting company’s growth plans and green energy goal
- Own lender’s financial models for the Carrington and Hunterston projects
- Provide quarterly information to existing lenders
- Update models for approved changes eg. debt draw down profile
- Assist with financial due diligence for subsequent fund-raising rounds
- Create internal financial models with key financial statements - income statement, balance sheet and cash flow for 2 project companies, 2 holding companies and Group
- Consider and model appropriate downside scenarios and sensitivities
- Assist with viability and going concern reviews

As the world shifts toward cleaner energy, the demand for reliable, sustainable power is only growing. Wind and solar energy are booming, but their output can be unpredictable (sunlight doesn't always shine and the wind doesn't always blow). And this makes storing energy for when it's needed a critical part of building a zero-carbon future.
Highview Power is tackling this challenge with long-duration energy storage using liquid air. Essentially, their system captures excess renewable energy, cools air until it becomes liquid, and stores it safely for hours, days, or even weeks. So, when electricity is needed, the liquid air is warmed to drive turbines, generating power without producing any emissions. Their plants are scalable, reliable, and can be built almost anywhere, making renewable energy easier to access.
Recently, Highview hit an important milestone by raising £130M to build a new facility in Scotland. The plant will create a "stability island" to balance the grid and help transport renewable energy from offshore wind farms to where it's needed most. This project not only strengthens the UK's energy system but also puts Highview in a perfect position for growth, creating jobs, boosting the local supply chain, and taking a huge step toward a fully renewable future.
