Our take

Karat is among the leading innovators in the field of technical interviewing. As digital interviews become more commonplace, the company fills the need for an efficient and practical interview solution with its world-first Interviewing Cloud.

Karat was founded upon the core idea that the online interview process is the gateway towards solving economic disparity throughout America. Serving household names such as American Express and Ford, the company uses a global network of experienced engineers to deliver consistent interviews tailored to the needs of the client. Karat makes money via annual subscription fees, and by charging for a set amount of interviews.

Karat conducts thousands of interviews every month on behalf of enterprises and technology companies. To combat systemic barriers to entry for Black engineers in the US tech space, the company has launched Brilliant Black Minds, an initiative that aims to close the interview access gap, and that has received investment from Serena Williams.
