Our take

Wearable fitness hardware and mobile applications have presented great potential in recent years for people to gamify and track their fitness, with further innovations being provided by smart hardware and computer vision technology. However, whilst this has led to the development of running, cycling, and other smart-home fitness applications, strength training is yet to see such progress.

MAGIC develops smart home gym technology that specializes in strength training, allowing users to receive measurable personalized strength training from home, without the requirement of a human personal trainer. The company achieves this by providing IoT hardware such as smart dumbells containing motion sensors, and a smart mirror that uses computer vision to present the interfacing for training whilst providing body composition analysis.

As well as a unique product, the company is backed by an experienced team of fitness and technology experts. This includes the Head of Physical Training at the Royal Marines, former Olympic athletes and the Gravity jetpack engineers.
