VSCO's mission is to nurture creativity so its users can make it.
VSCO, pronounced 'visco', is a photo and video editing and sharing app. Doing away with the ad revenue model of social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, it instead makes its money from subscriptions - and offers users a break from the constant pressure of follower and like counts.
Co-founded by an ex-wedding photographer with a passion for good, simple photography, as well as a former Creative Director, VSCO has found itself uniquely able to cater to what the creative community wants and needs. It of course competes with Instagram, as well as newcomers such as Tezza, but nonetheless has a strong and loyal user base, due to its creator-first philosophy, that could very well see it to further success.
