Role
Who you are
- 7-10 years of experience in enterprise pre-sales business intelligence or data analytics and focused on net new logo acquisition (for ex. Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Solutions Architecture roles). B2B saas pre-sales experience required
- Deep expertise with the modern data stack, including cloud data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift), transformation tools (e.g. dbt), and the broader analytics ecosystem
- Proven experience leading technical discovery, product demonstrations, Proofs of Concept (POCs), and technical evaluations with both business and technical stakeholders
- Strong SQL skills, using SQL for analytics
- Exceptional, consultative communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Prior experience with business intelligence and/or enterprise data analytics tools preferred (such as Looker, Omni, Tableau, PowerBI, Mode, Sisense, etc)

What the job involves
- As a Senior Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer, you'll be a trusted technical expert on the Omni platform, empowering our customers to do more with their data throughout the customer lifecycle. You'll work with companies across all industries, regions, and company sizes in our high-touch, forward-deployed model — leading complex evaluations, mentoring more junior SEs, and helping shape product direction as you share experience and feedback from the field
- Partner with the sales team to provide technical expertise in the sales process and beyond, helping uncover and prove out use cases to showcase the value of the Omni platform
- Lead technical discovery, product demonstrations, and Proofs of Concept (POCs) as part of the evaluation process, enabling prospective customers on how to successfully use Omni on their data
- Smoothly transition trials into successful customers by partnering with post-sales teams and engaging with our partners to plan for ongoing support where needed
- Mentor junior Solutions Engineers and help raise the bar on discovery, demo, and POC quality across the team
- Collaborate extensively with Product, Design, and Engineering to provide user feedback and guide product direction
Our take
The founding trio behind Omni led teams at major business intelligence startup Looker (now owned by Google), as well as data integration company Stitch. During their time at these companies, they learned that the more business intelligence teams aspire to be data-driven, the more data they have to integrate and query, and as a result, the more complex it becomes to analyze.
In a bid to outperform their previous employers, Omni’s business intelligence software features a centralized, structured platform which is designed to be more user friendly, while still allowing data analysts the freedom and flexibility of a more advanced BI stack.
It’s not only Looker that Omni has to contend with, however. The likes of Pyramid Analytics and Metabase are growing quickly in a fiercely competitive BI space. This hasn’t deterred its investors though, who have shown their confidence in Omni’s founding team as the company looks to shake up the Business Intelligence market.
