Role
Who you are
- Passionate about improving the software delivery through automation and continuous improvement
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Golang, Kotlin, Python, Typescript, or similar
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., GitHub Actions or GitLab CI)
- Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure etc.)
- Experience with automated testing on integration and end-to-end testing
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog)
- Open-minded, collaborative, and comfortable working in an Agile environment
- Motivated, proactive, and a passion for helping others and improving processes
- Fluent English communication skills
What the job involves
- In your role as a Platform Engineer (m/f/d), you will accelerate our engineering organization by enhancing the software development lifecycle across all of our engineering teams
- You will focus on improving tools and processes that enable our engineers to deliver high-quality software efficiently and reliably through improving CI/CD, adopting automated testing, and implementing site reliability engineering practices
- Enable engineers to consistently deliver value to our customers by providing tools and processes for automated testing, software quality and observability
- Build tools to drive the use of CI/CD and the adoption of platform components by our engineering teams
- Develop and advocate for automated testing practices, from unit tests to end-to-end production tests
- Implement and oversee quality assurance tools like SonarCloud to ensure high code quality
- Build and maintain adaptable testing tools and frameworks that simplify the integration of automated testing into the development process
- Contribute to our observability and incident process using tools like Datadog and Incident.io
- Collaborate with product engineers to improve software delivery processes
- Share knowledge and best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning

Online grocery delivery services in Europe range from early supermarket-specific services to the more recent success of mobile food-ordering applications. However despite thier proliferation grocery delivery services still face long waiting lists and logistic bottlenecks, with faster solutions coming with a compromise on the range and quality of products.
Flink provides an online website and mobile application for the delivery of fresh fruit, vegetables, and other organic-quality groceries to European homes. The company provides its services to 100 different European cities across Germany, the Netherlands and France, and claims that its grocery deliveries are provided at supermarket prices within 10 minutes of ordering.
Flink is one of the few remaining independent grocery delivery startups in Europe, with most of the others either having been acquired or shut down. German rival Gorillas for instance ate through its initial investments and was taken over in 2022. Flink has been playing a more conservative strategy, aiming for more steady growth, but had to receive a fresh investment round of 100 million euros in 2024 to help it outlast competitors. Rumors of a potential merger with competitor companies indicate the lengths that Flink is going to maintain its dominance in a market that, at present, is suffering from lower demand and higher costs.
