Who you are
- 8+ years in a direct content leadership role building and owning content and content strategies end to end
- Experience in journalism, communications, media relations, public relations or a related field
- Experience in SEO strategy
- Experience managing and building a team of content creators
- Excellent relationship-building and collaboration techniques with cross-functional groups at a dynamic, fast-paced company
- Exceptional creative and technical communicator
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail

- Thorough understanding of digital strategy, social platforms, and content creation

- Strong network of freelance creative talent (writers, poets, videographers, sound editors, 3D animators etc.) to help bring content to life

You think in long form and short form, rap verses, poetry, Zines, and everything in between and understand it’s about speaking to people in the way they want to be spoken to
- You’ve built and managed world-class content teams, overseeing functions including copy and editorial, content strategy, content studio, regulatory compliance, and quality control. You also come with a network of freelance creators that will follow you anywhere because you’ve inspired them to create their best work
- You are a hyper-collaborative, highly-energetic individual with the capacity to think on their feet and operate with effective, superior, clear direction
What the job involves
- Lead Seed's Content discipline to publish standard-setting content to increase awareness, reach, engagement, retention, and new member adoption
- Conceptualize, develop, and ensure progress against the annual Content Roadmap for the company, determining strategic objectives, initiatives, and projects for the Content team
- Oversee editorial content strategy, including development, execution, and evolution of key concepts and storylines across all editorial channels (social, email, web, etc.)
- Collaborate with wide array of cross functional teams (Creative, Growth, Product, Legal, Executive, SciComms, Partnerships, Product Marketing, Sustainability, etc.) to ensure the community voice is heard across all product, creative, and marketing to ensure our audience feels recognized and has the most inclusive, thoughtful, and meaningful experience possible
- Lead a crossfunctional team in considering in-the-moment opportunities to respond to culture through our authentic brand voice
- Infuse the Seed brand tone and voice throughout the Seed Content Development + Editorial platforms for consumers, practitioners, and partners
- Hands-on writing, proofreading, and editing to generate deliverables like white papers, zines, web content, email copy, long-form content, etc
- Help design the necessary experiences to enable us to onboard and retain our audiences and strengthen our communities
- Invent innovative strategies to engage community fostering brand advocacy and leveraging culturally relevant opportunities
- Apply audience research, data, and cultural trends through the Seed lens to develop and iterate with new technologies, creative approaches, and partners
- Report on and analyze results, and make recommendations on internal processes to ensure our programs are efficient and effective
- Develop owned GTM strategy for new products in collaboration with Marketing and Creative teams
- Promote continuous learning, experimentation, and the use of emerging trends and technologies within the content team
- Provide coaching, professional development opportunities, and support to team members to foster growth and performance
Our take
Seed Health is a microbial company that researches, develops and sells probiotic supplements to boost gastrointestinal, dermatological oral, pediatric and nutritional health.
The last decade has seen a renewed focus on probiotics, and gut health in particular, with scores of companies bringing supplements to market. However the efficacy of many of these are still shrouded in doubt, and lacking in insightful scientific research. Seed appears committed to upping (and setting) the standard. The company’s chief scientist, Dr. Gregor Reid, is a global authority in microbial sciences, having chaired the UN-WHO panel that first defined the term “probiotics”. On top of this, the company’s advisory board comes with a strong resume in microbiology, immunology, genetics, metabolomics, gastroenterology, pediatrics, environmental sciences and women’s health.
The next big step for Seed Health will be to rise above an already crowded marketplace while continuing R&D for new product categories. However, substantial funding in 2021 alongside the fostering of groundbreaking partnerships with the likes of the Swiss Institute of Allergy prove it is turning heads in the science sector.
