Who you are

7+ years of experience in a Product Design/UX/UI or related role; prior experience designing booking platforms, scheduling tools, team management, or financial/payment products is a strong plus
Demonstrated experience with sketching, wireframes, visual design, and prototyping for product experiences
Experience with advanced prototyping tools (e.g. Principle, Framer, Sketch, Figma, InVision)
Proven experience leveraging AI tools to shape design strategy and deliver impactful AI-driven experiences
Passion for empowering small business owners to be successful; possess a high level of empathy for our customers and a strong desire to deeply understand their needs
Experience navigating ambiguous high-growth, fast-paced product-driven environments

What the job involves

As a Staff Product Designer, you will lead and own design in our Core product area, focused on empowering beauty and wellness businesses to operate and grow with seamless, reliable tools
You’ll own the strategy and execution of key product experiences together with your Product and Engineering counterparts—from scheduling needs and client and team management to payment processing
As AI reshapes how products are built and experienced, you'll play a central role in defining how intelligent features show up for our customers, thoughtfully, usefully, and in a way that feels native to the GlossGenius experience
Our ideal candidate will be able to craft a diverse set of creative solutions to complex product design problems by working with our product team and leadership in Core Product
Own the entire design process, from strategy to execution, of your product area
Work on the user experience across Core product features within the GlossGenius app
Own the end-to-end process for solving UX/UI design problems: ideate, conceptualize, test, and refine
Construct user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that effectively communicate design concepts
Identify and design AI-powered product experiences that meaningfully reduce friction for small business owners
Lead user interviews to better understand customer needs to help inform the product design strategy
Collaborate with cross-functional teams of product managers, software and QA engineers, customer success managers, and marketers to design intuitive and engaging user experiences for GlossGenius' customers
Deliver products that are recognized as the best in the industry by understanding GlossGenius’s strategic and competitive position
Take initiative in thinking of new ways our users can interact with GlossGenius

Business management platforms exist for a wide range of industries, including retail, hospitality, and healthcare. However, despite a modern facade the beauty industry lacks specialized software and still runs on generic CRMs and basic spreadsheets. Recognizing a gap in the market, GlossGenius has stepped in to provided a specialized business management platform for beauty salons, spas and studios.

With little competition in this niche, GlossGenius has swiftly captured a large market share, with triple-digit year on year revenue growth. It serves over 1000,000 businesses and has raised more than $70M.

With this funding, the company is aiming to accelerate platform development off the back of the release of consumer experience, payment and automation products. And it is well on the way to fulfilling its long-term aim of developing into the Toast of the beauty industry.
