Who you are

- Deeply technical, with strong instincts for system design and architecture

- Proficiency in TypeScript or Python, with experience across the stack
- Hands-on experience with frontend development, backend services, and DevOps workflows
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and a proven track record of shipping
- Experience building and owning production systems end-to-end
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, early-stage environment
- Excellent communicator in remote and cross-functional contexts
Desirable
- Advanced skills in Google Sheets or Excel - array formulas, automation, query logic, etc
- Experience as a technical founder or early engineer at a startup

What the job involves
- The Forward Deployed Engineering team at Tabs focuses on rapidly proving out new integrations, features, and workflows for our most complex and ambiguous revenue operations customers
- We don't build the core product - instead, we work ahead of the roadmap to deliver functional MVPs and prototypes that demonstrate what's possible for high-value or hard-to-solve customer problems
- Our goal is speed, impact, and reducing complexity
- We deliver high-leverage solutions that unblock users quickly, validate new ideas, and pave the way for long-term, scalable solutions for the core product and engineering teams
- We work across the stack - from data pipelines and billing engines to frontend tooling - always with an eye toward velocity and value
- We're looking for a highly technical, product-minded Full Stack Engineer to join the Forward-Deployed Engineer team and help us move quickly on high-impact initiatives
- You’ll own MVPs and proof-of-concept projects end-to-end - from designing APIs and backend services to building internal tools or lightweight frontend interfaces
- This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys creative problem-solving, and wants to work directly with stakeholders to ship fast and deliver valuable outcomes to customers
- As a forward-deployed engineer, you’d be embedded close to the business, empowered to move fast, solve problems, and ship value
- Build full-stack systems using TypeScript or Python across our frontend, backend, and infrastructure layers
- Own projects from spec to launch, collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Ops Solutions, and Implementation teams
- Work directly with users and stakeholders to identify pain points and rapidly deliver impactful solutions
- Unblock yourself through independent discovery - whether through docs, code, or conversation
- Raise the bar on engineering quality, maintainability, and velocity through thoughtful design and code reviews

Despite the rise of automation within businesses, a massive amount of finance work is still done manually. Tabs believes that this workload needs to be moved to modern, automated software, so it provides a platform that does just that.
Tabs' AI-powered accounts receivable platform empowers B2B businesses to optimize their AR processes, saving them time, improving cash flow and reducing the rate of billing errors. The platform is able to do this because its AI is capable of reading and understanding commercial contracts, which until now required the eye of an experienced finance professional.
The company already boasts a number of clients such as Pelago, Findigs and Volta. And a 2024 influx of funding has set the company up for further development and growth, and cements it as one to watch.
