Who you are
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in marketing operations or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), and other marketing technologies
- Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels

What the job involves
- As the Manager of Marketing Operations, you will lead the strategy, execution, and optimization of our marketing processes and technologies within the GTM Operations organization
- Your leadership will drive effectiveness, enhance data integrity, and ensure seamless collaboration across GTM teams. You will play a crucial role in maximizing our marketing processes and supporting our growth objectives
- Strategic execution: Drive the execution of marketing operations strategies set in collaboration with the broader GTM Operations team and business partners that align with company goals and drive effectiveness
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance marketing automation, lead management, and campaign execution
- Data Management: Oversee the management and integrity of marketing data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and analytics
- Performance Measurement: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives
- Campaign Operationalization: Ensure the smooth operationalization of marketing campaigns, from planning to execution, to achieve business goals
- Technology Oversight: Manage the selection, implementation, and optimization of marketing technology platforms and tools
- Performance Measurement: Report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and initiatives on a per campaign, weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing (particularly Demand Gen, PMM, and ABM), Sales, and IT, to ensure alignment and support for marketing initiatives. Serve as a key cross-functional business partner to the Marketing Leadership team
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a small team of marketing operations professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth
Our take
Developers rely on open source code and apps in their day to day work, but when the provenance of the code is unknown this creates potential weaknesses that cybercriminals can exploit. Chainguard exists to build security into the coding supply chain by making it possible for companies to enforce security policies based on auditable signatures baked into the code, and by providing a security-first set of container images with no known vulnerabilities for cloud app developers.
In the wake of huge cyber attacks like the Log4j vulnerability and Solarwinds breach, software supply chain security has been an area of major focus for startups hoping to solve problems in this sector. However, most of these focus on scanning and detection of threats. Chainguard's approach comes from the other end of the process, focusing on building security into the software itself.
Built by former Google engineers, Chainguard is aware of the existing workload (and oversized toolkit) of software developers and so is designed to be easily installed and to integrate with existing automation systems like Terraform.
Chainguard completed a Series A funding round led by Sequoia Capital in mid-2022. It is using this funding to develop its product and hire additional talent. It is also investing in open-source projects aligned with its mission and establishing a free education program to teach developers about supply chain security.
