Role
Who you are
- 1-2 years of experience working in marketplace operations, customer success, logistics, or a similar role
- Experience working in a fast-paced operations or retail environment is highly preferred
- Adept at solving complex problems and implementing change
- Extremely organized and highly motivated to work quickly and efficiently
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets
- Mindset that no task is too big or too small, with a "make it happen" mentality
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and excellence in execution
- Strong follow-up and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Fast learner, able to pick up new skills quickly across multiple functional areas
What the job involves
- We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Operations Assistant to join our team and support the expansion of our revenue department

- In this role, you'll have the opportunity to establish valuable connections within the industry and further develop your project management skills, positioning yourself at the forefront of our department's growth
- Quickly adapt and learn on the fly, supporting a wide range of functions across Sales, Operations, and Accounting as business needs evolve
- Maintain clean and up-to-date records by ensuring key deal information is accurately and promptly captured on our platform and other internal tools, including receiving reports, issue resolution statuses, shipment updates, and open action items
- Synthesize documentation from multiple stakeholders to create clear, accurate, and descriptive incident reports that ensure accountability for internal and external partners
- Communicate proactively and assertively across internal and external teams to drive issue resolution, clarify needs, and follow up on next steps. You’ll act as a central point of contact, ensuring that both sides stay informed and aligned
- Build processes and explore technical tools to support claims processing and ticket management
- Manage orders from start to finish, from learning buyer and seller preferences to ensuring orders are delivered in a timely and accurate manner
Our take
Excess inventory is one of the biggest pain points for modern retailers. Ghost solves this problem by making it easier for retailers to buy and sell excess inventory discreetly and sustainably.
With retailers wasting around $500 billion a year on excess inventory, demand for solutions like Ghost's is sky-high. The company has also made good on this demand, emerging from stealth mode in 2022 and about $38 million in funding to date. Ghost, which functions in much the same way as eBay, has benefited hugely from its founder's prior experience in the apparel industry.
Ghost's clear focus on sustainability and discretion has broad market appeal, especially for large-scale retailers looking to reduce waste and improve their public image. If Ghost can continue to attract such clients, it could scale at an impressive pace in the coming years.
