3+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in Java, C++, C#, Python, or Go

Experience building and working with complex, latency-sensitive, event-driven trading systems, and ideally execution or market making algos

What the job involves

As an software engineer in the trading team, your main focus is on crafting and maintaining the models driving our algo trading suite
Your day-to-day involves collaborating with product managers and quants to refine existing strategies, create new models, and help to understand execution following client escalations
You'll be part of a distributed team of algorithmic trading engineers, working together to build efficient low-latency OMS and SOR components for trading digital assets
Design, implement, test and deploy high performance backend systems and services, including market data connectivity, algorithmic execution, and trade analytic engines
Improve the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of our trading platform
Work with the product team and our clients to deliver solutions that support the full trade lifecycle
Be test driven to ensure strong automated test coverage of our algorithmic trading engine and related components
Own project deliveries; from collaborating on initial designs to implementation and testing
Be part of an open and transparent culture as we grow the team

So far, the increasing institutional interest in the value of crypto-assets has been stymied by a lack of scaled, efficient, and secure infrastructure that these institutions could use for trade. Talos addresses the problem of digital asset trading between institutions, helping them to securely sidestep these obstacles into a fresh market with potentially huge returns.

The company provides a range of end-to-end, highly configurable tools to populate and facilitate the institutional crypto-asset market from just one platform. Talos' approach is helping to lower the bar for wide-ranging adoption of cryptocurrency, supporting the full lifespan of digital assets trading. That said, because the company is developing an entirely new asset class market, progress is accelerated, and competition may have a chance to overtake.

Promising for Talos was the interest of prominent investors, including PayPal and Fidelity, during their Series A and B funding rounds. The funds were used to create an institutional-grade service that would help shape and spearhead this developing market. More recently, the company has formed several significant partnerships, including with BlackRock, and acquired D3X Systems, the integration of which will enable its clients to design, validate, implement, and manage highly customised portfolios.
