Our take
Businesses are constantly analysing the efficiency of their workforce's online activities, but rarely are these methods applied to the usage of their physical spaces. VergeSense builds AI-driven sensors and analytical software for businesses to gain insights on the occupancy of their offices, so that they can optimize the use of their facilities.
The technology provides information on how full seating areas are, whether conference rooms are being used, and where desk space is currently available. It also supplies AI-enabled recommendations for how to reduce costs, enhance sustainability and improve the employee experience through better space management.
While AI is often used to improve efficiency in software scenarios, VergeSense's application of it for physical office spaces is quite unique. The company serves some of the world's largest enterprises, and recently expanded a partnership with Microsoft Places to allow Places users to access its AI-powered predictive planning capabilities directly from the floor plans they already manage there.
