What the job involves
- Epilot is building a SaaS product to sell complex products online, focusing on solving ecommerce in the rapidly transforming energy market. Our mission: Make selling complex energy products as easy as selling a pair of shoes online
- As Software Engineer at epilot you will be a driving force in shaping this mission. What makes working as a Software Engineer at epilot so special? Our unique engineering culture is defined by a few core engineering principles

- We believe in ownership: you build it, you run it. We subscribe to this core principle of the DevOps movement. There is no dedicated Ops team who you can pass on the responsibility to take your code and make sure it runs reliably and scales to customers’ needs
- You should always show, don’t tell: Deliver working software early and frequently. We believe in the basic Agile principle of “Release early and release often”. This approach helps us manage risk and make better decisions by creating fast feedback loops between ourselves and our users
- We design software API First. Before we write a single line of code, we design the APIs of a service in a way that any other team, whether internal to epilot or external, can use the APIs interface with our service without prior knowledge
- As a Product Engineer at epilot, you’ll go beyond just coding. You’ll play an integral role in building our cutting-edge platform using technologies like TypeScript, React, Svelte, and serverless AWS microservices. Here’s what you’ll do:

- Be part of a cross-functional dream team: Collaborate with full-stack, backend, and frontend developers, designers, and product managers to deliver impactful features
- Work end-to-end: From ideation to delivery, you’ll team up with product management and design to bring features to life and make product decisions
- Take ownership: Got an idea? Draft an RFC (Request for Comment), drive the initiative, and own it from start to finish
- Foster growth: Mentor colleagues, share knowledge, and continuously learn new technologies
- Innovate with agility: Participate in diverse, exciting development projects, leveraging pair programming and agile methodologies
Our take
To support the energy transition, epilot supplies a cloud platform for utilities, grid operators and energy solution providers. It boasts a range of capabilities from CRM and customer service to workflows, automations and integrations.
The idea behind the platform is to support energy businesses to move away from their legacy software systems, and in doing so advance the energy transition. Basically, by making it easier to make the switch, epilot encourages more businesses to do so.
The company's approach stems from the belief that the path to greater climate protection requires a digital foundation. It's an interesting attitude and quite possibly a necessary one. Plus, with new funding under its belt, epilot is in a great position to speed up its product roadmap and expand its team.

Besides being a great conference speaker Nishu joined as Senior Product Engineer in 2022. Since August 2025 she transitioned to her new role as Teachlead of Team Manifest.
Vlad joined epilot as Senior Full Stack Engineer in 2020. Became the Tech Lead of Team Alpha in 2021 and since July 2025 is now Co-Head of Engineering, while still being hands-on coding.
